Partnership Model Enables Proactive Site Management on Megaproject

Challenge

A large general contractor was tasked with turning 6,000 acres of remote farmland into a massive battery plant facility. The site needed everything from equipment to temporary power, climate control and site security. Early in the project, damage to UTVs became a problem to address.

Solution

United Rentals delivered an end-to-end solution that included temporary power and HVAC; a 7-acre onsite equipment branch with network connectivity; smart turnstiles; AI-enabled cameras; badge-based equipment access management; and WEDGE® remote environmental monitoring and control.

Impact

The partnership with United Rentals helped the customer increase safety and productivity. In addition, WEDGE reduced site walks and heater run time. Total Control® helped right-size equipment rentals. Connected jobsite solutions reduced UTV incidents and the need for security personnel.
