Veteran Employment Supporter

United Rentals proudly supports ex-service men and women transitioning into mainstream work through our Veterans United program, helping address the industry’s ongoing skills shortage. Many veterans already play key roles within our team, and in the ANZAC spirit, we are proud to stand beside them as they move into the next stage of their careers.

Variety - the Children’s Charity

United Rentals is honoured to partner with Variety – the Children’s Charity in Australia. Each Christmas, we run an official Giving Program, donating a percentage of invoices directly to Variety.

Our team also takes part in events such as Spin 4 Kids and the Variety Adventure Ride - initiatives that bring great pride to our organisation. Being able to see the direct impact of these contributions is both fulfilling and inspiring, and we are grateful to be a long-term supporter of this charity.

Cronulla Sharks

United Rentals (formerly Shore Hire) has long supported the Cronulla Sharks Football Club, sponsoring both the Academy and NRLW teams.

Recently, we helped restore an iconic mural celebrating the Sharks’ 2016 Premiership. Once removed due to redevelopment, the beloved “Up Up Cronulla” mural has now been recreated in a new location - again capturing one of the most memorable moments in Sharks and NRL history.

We are incredibly proud to have played a part in preserving this piece of club heritage, ensuring it continues to inspire fans for years to come.

United Rentals is proud to continue supporting the Cronulla Sharks as an Academy Sponsor in the 2026 season, helping to nurture the next generation of players and strengthen the pathways that ensure the club’s success both on and off the field.

Women in Sport

United Rentals is proud to help increase participation and pathways for young women in sport through our sponsorship of the Cronulla Sharks Girls Academy and NRLW professional team. We also support individual athletes, such as Australian Youth Olympian snowboarder Sascha Elvy. Through our legacy companies, we have also supported community sporting organisations, including the growth of women's rugby through the Two Blues Rugby Club, helping create more opportunities and pathways for female athletes.

Creating pathways for women at the elite level drives participation and representation across all levels of sport - and it’s something we are very proud to be part of.

Hire & Rental Industry Association

United Rentals is a committed partner of the Hire and Rental Industry Association (HRIA), which champions rental and hire services as the top choice for businesses and consumers by supporting members, developing talent, and advancing industry growth.

Our legacy company Shore Hire is proud to have previously won the HRIA Hire Company of the Year (2012) and the inaugural Excellence in People & Culture Excellence Award (2024). At the 2024 Annual Awards Night, Shore Hire was also recognised as a finalist once again for Hire Company of the Year.
