Relocatable Explosive Magazine
We design and build explosive storage for mining, infrastructure, government, and defence sites across Australia. Engineered by Royal Wolf, our relocatable magazines keep Class 1 explosives secure and in good condition, protecting product against theft and reducing the risk of accidental initiation while still giving your crew quick, controlled access when they need it.
If a standard magazine doesn’t suit your explosive class, quantity, or site conditions, we’ll build one that does. Tell us what you need to store and we’ll take care of the rest, through to a compliant unit ready for installation on site.
- Relocatable magazines built to Australian Standards for Class 1 explosives
- Built to your brief, not adapted from a fixed product
- 5mm insulated steel walls, blast-rated doors, fully ventilated
- Takes impact and cyclones, built for remote and exposed sites
For a ready-to-hire unit with full specifications, see our 20ft Relocatable Explosive Magazine. For storage that falls outside that standard unit, this is where it starts.

In-House Engineering & Design
Our engineers know explosive storage. They’ve built compliant magazines and one-off jobs across mining, civil, and government work, so they understand what these builds have to stand up to. Design, build, and inspection all happen under one roof, which keeps a complex requirement with the people who understand it from start to finish.
Custom Fabrication & Build
Every magazine is built to suit your site. The walls are 5mm steel, fully insulated, and the doors are blast-rated. Inside, the unit is fully ventilated and timber-lined so static can’t build up, and the outer shell is 10kPa corten steel built to take impact and weather. It’s storage made for the conditions it has to work in.
Compliance & Build Support
We build to Australian Standards: AS2187.1 for the storage of explosives, ISO 6346:2022 for container marking, and the building code for stacked containers. The storage licence stays yours to hold with your state regulator, and our job is to supply a magazine that meets the standard, so it holds up when it’s audited.

Case Study: Relocatable Explosive Magazines
A client came to us needing relocatable storage for explosives. It had to keep product secure, reduce the risk of accidental initiation, and prevent access by anyone unauthorised, while still letting the crew reach product easily. We designed and built it to their brief and to Australian Standards: fully ventilated, 5mm insulated steel walls, blast-rated doors, timber-lined against static, and a 10kPa corten shell rated for impact and cyclones.
Explosive Storage Magazine FAQs
A standard 20ft magazine covers most on-site storage. A custom build makes sense when your net explosive quantity, your mix of explosive classes, or your site conditions don’t suit the standard unit. If you’re not sure which applies, tell us the class and quantity you’re storing and we’ll advise whether the standard unit works for you.
Yes. Every magazine is built to move. It’s portable, quick to deploy, and built to the relevant container and stacking standards, so you can relocate it as the work moves or a project changes stage. And if a component is ever damaged, you replace the part rather than the whole unit.
It means we build to your brief rather than adapting a fixed product, working around what you’re storing, how you’re using it, and the standards you have to meet.
