Battery Storage & Thermal Monitoring
We design and build containerised facilities for the safe storage of lithium-ion batteries across the rail, transport, and energy sectors in Australia. Storing high-value battery assets means managing thermal risk, and our facilities are built to hold batteries in a controlled, actively monitored environment, with early fire detection and back-to-base alarms that flag a problem before anyone needs to open the door.
Each build integrates electrical, HVAC, thermal imaging, and environmental monitoring into one engineered, certified facility. Operators can read live thermal feeds, temperature, and humidity from outside the unit, so they can check the state of the storage and make a call before entry.
- Containerised lithium-ion battery storage with active thermal monitoring
- Integrated thermal imaging and early fire-risk detection
- Fire-retardant insulation, HVAC, and real-time temperature and humidity monitoring
- External monitoring so operators check conditions before entry
Services
Engineered Battery Storage
We design and build the facility around the battery assets it has to protect. A delivered project joined two 20ft high-cube containers into a single insulated storage unit, lined with fire-retardant panelling and spray-foam insulation over a chemically resistant floor to contain potential leaks. It’s storage engineered for the specific risk lithium-ion carries, not a standard container with a lock on it.
Thermal Imaging & Early Detection
Each unit carries dual thermal imaging cameras, an NVR, and amber/red alarm logic tied to external emergency beacons. The system watches for the early heat signature of a developing fault and raises the alarm early, when there’s still time to act. Live thermal, temperature, and humidity data is visible externally, so risk is assessed before anyone enters.
Controlled Environment
Heavy-industry split-system air conditioning, dual exhaust fans, and real-time temperature and humidity monitoring keep battery assets within safe operating thresholds. The environment is held steady and watched continuously, which is what lithium-ion storage needs to stay safe over the long term.
In-House Engineering & Certification
We design, engineer, manufacture, and install the facility in-house, including hot works, electrical fit-out, FAT testing, structural certification, delivery, and handover. All drawings, engineering, and production are completed at our Centre of Excellence, with after-sales support for the monitoring software and systems.

Case Study: Battery Storage & Thermal Monitoring Facility
A customer needed a compliant, purpose-built facility to safely store lithium-ion traction batteries: protecting high-value assets, holding strict thermal and environmental control, and integrating early fire detection with back-to-base audio and visual alarms. We designed, engineered, manufactured, and installed a dual-container solution, two joined 20ft high-cube units, fully insulated with fire-retardant panelling and spray-foam over a chemically resistant floor. Dual thermal cameras, alarm logic, external beacons, and an IP65 monitoring enclosure let operators read live thermal, temperature, and humidity data from outside, reducing risk before entry. It was delivered end to end, from design and FAT testing through to installation and handover.
Battery Storage and Thermal Monitoring Facility FAQs
Lithium-ion batteries carry a thermal runaway risk, a fault can generate heat that escalates into a fire. Continuous thermal imaging and temperature monitoring catch that early heat signature before it develops, which is the difference between an alarm and an incident. The facility is built around managing that risk.
Yes, and that’s a core safety feature. An external IP65 monitoring enclosure shows live thermal feeds, temperature, humidity, and alarm states from outside the container, so operators assess conditions and make a decision before they ever open the door.
Fire-retardant insulation, heavy-industry split-system air conditioning, dual exhaust fans, and real-time temperature and humidity monitoring work together to keep battery assets within safe operating thresholds, in a controlled, continuously watched environment.
