Efficient Maintenance and Support for Cadia Mine

The Project

Orange Hire supplied and maintained a range of earthmoving equipment to support ongoing operations and the CXP expansion project at Cadia Mine in New South Wales.

Cadia mine

Summary

Cadia Mine, one of Australia’s largest gold and copper operations, required reliable hire equipment to support both ongoing works and a major expansion project. Orange Hire provided a fleet of compliant machinery, including excavators, dump trucks, loaders, rollers, and telehandlers, supported by fast response times and on-site servicing. With a dedicated, site-inducted mechanic and strong local presence, Orange Hire ensured equipment availability, performance, and minimal downtime across multiple contractors working on site.

Challenge

Operating within a mining environment required all equipment to meet strict safety and compliance standards, including MDG15 guidelines for mobile plant. At the same time, the expansion project increased demand for hire equipment, requiring fast mobilisation, consistent maintenance, and reliable on-site support to meet the needs of multiple contractors.
